Plans for the new £21million Greenock Health and Care Centre have cleared another hurdle after the Board of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde approved the full business case on Tuesday.

Inverclyde Council Is In Talks With Lottery Bosses Over Concerns About A £2.2m Anti-Poverty Project

The three year I:DEAS programme was set up last September with the aim of helping 2,000 local people to escape debt. But the Council's chief financial officer Alan Puckrin is concerned about the rules around the Big Lottery funded model and the financial risks involved.

Inverclyde Council could face a bill of hundreds of thousands of pounds for work to the Waterfront Leisure Centre, including nearly half a million pounds to replace the boiler.

A multi-agency campaign is taking place throughout October to warn residents across the district about bogus callers and rogue traders. Police and Inverclyde Council's trading standards and enforcement team met with shoppers in Morrisons to offer expert advice on how to stay safe and avoid being ripped off.

Ferguson Marine donates £2.5k to Ardgowan Hospice

The money was raised through the yard's long-running welfare fund. Around 100 Ferguson's staff have signed up to the scheme, which sees a small amount taken off their wage each month towards good causes.
