New interest has been expressed in the Texas Instruments plant in Greenock which is due to close in a year. A task force has been working to try to secure a deal for the factory in Larkfield Industrial Estate.

Key Regeneration Project Gets Underway

A busy road through Greenock is to be closed for at least a week to allow a major regeneration project to get underway. The sharp corner between Baker Street and Drumfrochar Road – known as Baker’s Brae – is to be removed by cutting through the site of former industrial buildings.

Greenock Artist's Paintings Go For £1 Million At Auction

Two oil paintings by Greenock’s finest twentieth century artist have sold for more than £1 million pounds at auction. One of the works by William Scott, Berlin Blues 2, was purchased for £730,000 at the Sotheby’s sale in London, making it the second most valuable Scott work sold at auction.

A big budget Bollywood blockbuster is being filmed in Inverclyde. Cast and crew from forthcoming thriller 'Badla', which means revenge, were on location at a house in Greenock's Newton Street and at Kip Marina in Inverkip on Thursday.

Missing Link Path Created For Loch Thom Walkers And Cyclists

A new link trail for walkers and mountain bikers has been created at the top of Loch Thom in the countryside near Greenock. The path connects the Overton to Cornalees Bridge track with a route that branches off the Old Largs Road.

Gourock Outdoor Pool was closed on Thursday after bearing the brunt of Storm Hector. The facility in Albert Road was unable to open after strong winds overnight.

Opticians Set Their Sights On Foam Fun And Fund-raising

Staff at Specsavers in Greenock completed a 5k with a foamy difference in aid of Ardgowan Hospice. The team from the opticians raised £730 in aid of the charity by completing the Bubble Rush which took place in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow.
