An historic drinking fountain gifted by one half of the world famous Tate and Lyle partnership is set to be brought back to life.  Inverclyde Council has unveiled proposals to restore the Lyle Fountain in Greenock as part of its £1.9million regeneration plan for the town centre.

Thousands Descend on Inverkip For One of The Biggest Maritime Events in The UK 

Scotland’s Boat Show 2018 was held at Kip Marina over the weekend, with visitors enjoying a packed programme.  With several pavilions showcasing the best in Scottish food and drink, cooking, arts and crafts, and promoting the Inverclyde offer to the huge crowds who attend from all over the country and further afield.

New Learning Centre Officially Opened

Inverclyde Council’s new £3.4million nursery has been officially opened.  The 100 pupil Glenpark Early Learning Centre in Greenock has been built on part of the former Greenock Academy site replacing the previous ‘west end’ facility at Kelly Street Nursery and St Mary’s Primary.

Traffic Lights Being Proposed Instead of Roundabout at A78 Inverkip Junction

Plans for a roundabout on the A78 at the north entrance to Inverkip look set to be scrapped in favour of traffic lights. Other changes to the long-awaited road improvements include traffic lights at Kip Marina and a roundabout further south on the A78. They are revealed in a report to Inverclyde councillors.
