Greenock-Based Firm's Charity Night With David Haye Is A Knockout Success

Bosses from a Greenock-based company and former boxing world champion David Haye teamed up to raise over £100,000 for charity. The annual Action for Children Scotland sports dinner, sponsored by local firm PG Paper, took place in Glasgow recently featuring 'The Hayemaker' as a knockout special guest.

Next Stage Of £2.8m Scottish Water Works Programme To Begin

Driver's are being warned about delays in Greenock town centre due to the next stage of a £2.8m waterworks programme. Scottish Water is progressing work on a scheme to improve waste water infrastructure and prevent flooding.

New First Aid Training Centre Set To Open In Greenock

A new first aid training regional centre is set to open in Greenock. St Andrew’s First Aid’s Training and Supplies Ltd will be based at Riverside Inverclyde's Ladyburn Business Centre and becomes operational on July 9.

Sports Club Funding Approved By Inverclyde Council

Sports groups across Inverclyde have been awarded over £145,000 from the Council’s new grants system for under 19’s. The money has been allocated in the same way as the successful Grants to Voluntary Organisations fund.

Bowling clubs, pipe bands and volunteers are among the community groups to benefit from one-off grants from Inverclyde Council. A total of £190,334.88 is to be paid out from the Grants to Voluntary Organisations Fund.

Planners have agreed that a former tool and equipment hire shop in Greenock can be used for a funeral business. The Independent Family Funeral Directors of Rutherglen made the change-of-use application for the vacant HSS Hire premises in Dalrymple Street.
