Inverclyde Construction Forum welcomes members old and new to participate in the AGM on Thursday 29th March 2012 at the Waterfront Campus. The meeting will review activities and successes in 2011 and look to the future to find out from members how the Forum can develop to assist the construction industry in Inverclyde.
As usual, the meeting will be held in the IBM Suite at the Waterfront Campus of James Watt College.
Ian MacNaughton, Chairperson of the Forum is urging local companies engaged in construction activities or the local supply chain to attend. He stated, “In today’s construction industry, it is even more important to make links and network with colleagues and partners to find out about contracts locally and to gain knowledge on important issues affecting the industry and business generally. We have covered critical issues like procurement compliance, tendering, credit control, VAT, contract law and dispute resolution. The Forum is keen to be responsive to members’ needs. We will deliver awareness and training on new trends in the industry and advise on compliance matters for our members. As Chairperson, I would greatly encourage my colleagues in the industry to become members and attend our quarterly meetings.” Ian further stressed that membership of the Forum is free as are the quarterly breakfast meetings. If you wish to join the forum please contact Neil Lochiel on 755080 for a membership form.
The agenda for the AGM will include a guest speaker, George Farley (The Interim Chief Executive of WellSpring Partnership Ltd ). George will speak about the projects across the West territory will be delivered through a joint venture company (hubco) formed between the various public sector bodies and the Wellspring consortium. The flexibility of the hub supply chain will offer many opportunities for local SMEs within the construction industry to become involved in building high-quality public sector buildings in their local area.
The final part of the morning is the regular round up of forthcoming tendering opportunities which are likely to occur in the next three months from the Council, ri and River Clyde Homes and information on where contracts will be advertised. This valuable update for members has been well received and Inverclyde Construction Forum is committed to ensuring that local companies have every opportunity to tender for locally arising work.
There will be time for audience participation, Q&A and feedback.
